The WORST DECISION can we do something about it?
Have you ever thought about what was the worst decision that could have been made for our planet? No? Well then let me introduce you to the Willow Project.
What is the Willow project? The Willow project, an $8 billion project that seeks to extract millions of barrels of oil in Alaska over the next 30 years, targeting 180,000 barrels a day. It would be taking place in a region with a vast ecosystem of various animals, including polar bears, thousands of migratory birds and caribou, and it is not only home to these species, but also to various native communities that depend on hunting and fishing to survive.
Of course, it is said that this project will generate jobs and also a local investment, but what comes to the end of the case if it contaminates your home, they will no longer have a place to hunt or clean air in which to breathe.
What would be the consequences of this project? We should be concerned about this project as it would cause a negative socio-environmental impact on our planet. It would not only affect the animals that live there and the communities, but it would also release 278 million metric tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, which means it would be a highly dangerous climate disaster for all of us. It would affect the poles in such a negative way because not only is it already warming 4 times faster than the global average, this would only make it worse.
This March 13, 2023, the Willow Project was approved. by the President of the United States Joe Biden.
So that's where we ask ourselves, why? Which was the reason? Well the reason is simple, money, money is everything for those systems, the consequences don't matter as long as you can get what you want. And then, where are the rights of those people who are in the communities? How will they have good access to food? And your health? What will happen to us? What will become of the planet? What will happen to the atmosphere? How much time left?
And that is where we arrive and ask ourselves, how can we help?
A march is being promoted on social networks, it does not matter which side of the world you are on or if it will be just you marching or a lot, march for a FUTURE, for OUR FUTURE. This march will take place on April 1 throughout the day, with the representative colors white and light blue. And if you can't participate, don't worry, here we can all help in different ways.
Make Stop Willow posters and show them to the world, let yourself be heard and be heard by others.
Promote the message on social networks and we reach many more people.
Remember that all support, all help is useful and together with small actions we can make a big change. Our goal here is to get Project Willow cancelled, they may have already approved it, but that doesn't mean we're going to sit idly by and stop this decision and save our future. Because let's face it, if this happens, being able to have a future will be much more complicated than it already is.
