No bees No life

We couldn't imagine that such a small animal could be such a big task that we would come to depend on it. This is how it is right now with bees, if we quote Albert Einstein:

"If bees disappeared from the face of the Earth, humanity would have four years of existence left, since food crops would have no one to pollinate them."

I leave it as simple as that, it is true this phrase is not known exactly if Einstein said it, even so this phrase is attributed to him, but whether he said it or not it continues to have the same meaning, if we do not have bees we will not have a future, you have to understand that we depend on bees for a lot of things. Did you know that without bees, agricultural yields would be much lower and some fruits could disappear.

Why should we protect bees?

We would be facing a food shortage. The third part of human food is mainly through pollination by bees. They are vital for crops because their pollination not only increases yield but also improves the quality of the fruit, which is why their disappearance could cause a tremendous loss to diversity and food quality.

Why is there a decline in bees?

  • Climate change.

  • Changes in land use for agriculture or urbanization.

  • Intensive agricultural practices.

  • The monoculture.

  • Excessive use of agricultural chemicals.

What can we do for bees and protect them?

  • Know more to respect them and avoid damaging them.

  • Do not leave bottles, bags, cans, etc... lying around.

  • Buy local honey.

  • It helps protect the honeycombs from bees: if it id in a place where it does not bother or cause any damage, leave them alone, all they are looking for is to be able to reproduce in order to continue pollinating.

  • Do not light fire in the field.

  • Plant flowering plants.

  • If you have a garden, keep it diverse, that will be a paradise for them and you will have a beautiful garden.

Flowers you can plant for bees:

  • Lavender.

  • Cilantro.

  • Thyme.

  • Fennel.

  • Borage.

  • Sunflower.

  • Zinnia.

  • Cleome.

  • Calendula.

  • Alder.

  • Chamomile.

  • Poppy.

  • Rosemary.

  • Roses.

  • Sage.

  • Cardinal.

With these plants you will already have a beautiful garden and you will help the bees. Remember that bees pollinate 90% of the food plants we need to live. And bees don't sting you on purpose, they are vegetarians and they don't like to sting humans because that could cause their own death.
